Lance is a familiar figure at Steadman’s Ace Hardware. He’s in charge of the Electrical & Plumbing Departments. For many, many years Lance has been helping customers find solutions to their plumbing and electrical problems. He’s also helped lots of folks select the right parts and tools for some pretty major DIY (do-it-yourself) projects. His many years of helping others with their DIY projects made tackling his own major DIY task much easier – at least the planning was easier, if not the work itself.
Lance recently completed one of the two most difficult DIY projects a homeowner can take on: he completely remodeled and renovated his kitchen. Kitchens and bathrooms require plumbing and electrical work that is not called for in other rooms – so remodeling either of these rooms takes extra time, effort and parts.
The accompanying photographs pretty much tell the tale of Lance’s 3-month long project. If you have any questions about what Lance did, or how it did it, he invites you to stop by Steadman’s and ask him.
Nora Drew spends time working in almost every department, and also helps with designing the store’s end caps. Nora has an artistic eye, and loves to make things look better.
Nora recently took on a DIY (do-it-yourself) painting project at her home. Nora started with 1-quart each of Clark & Kensington flat paint in Pale Tan and Slate. Nora applied both paint colors randomly to the ceiling using brushes and then, using the large, flat Woolie Pad, patted the paint out into the unique, attractive patterns you see in the accompanying photographs.
Multiple photographs are provided below to show the variations achieved in the patterns and the scope of the project.
