Driver drills and impact drivers are two of the most popular, helpful tools ever invented. And the more bits you have for each, most especially for the driver drills, the more useful they become around the house, shop and jobsite. Keeping these useful bits organized, and at the same time easily accessible, presents something of a problem. Try using an office drawer organizer – as shown at left. Most compartments are small, but easily large enough for many bits. There are also large compartments for accessories and larger bits. Most importantly, there are a lot of compartments.
My organizer is shown at right and contains (starting with the top left compartment): empty for temporary uses • 2 square drive bits • #2 and #3 flathead bits • star drive bits • #1, #2, and #3 Phillips head bits • ¼” and 5/16″ hex bits • extensions and ratchet adapter • my most used drill bits • drill bit index, wire brush on long spindle, and special drill bits. This is very handy around the shop, and for out-of-shop work, I pull what I want and put it into a small toolbox with the driver(s) needed. Also shown in the photos are a full set of DeWalt brad point drill bits, and a kit with large brad point drill bits as well as a full array of hex bits.
